Clothing Alteration –
Statement of Attainment
Learn the fundamentals of Clothing Alterations from Industry professionals. Your Teacher will take you through 4 specific levels of Clothing Alterations from Menswear to Womenswear clothing.
Applicants will be taught:
- Hemming and levelling (hand and machine)
- Tailoring of suits
- Zip replacement corrections
- Correct Fitting techniques of a garment on
- various body shapes
- How to identify construction faults and
- correcting production errors
- Mending effectively
- Restyling garments from casual to formal wear

Follow Defined OH&S Policies and Procedures Apply Quality Standards Use a Sewing Machine Provide Hand Sewing and Finishing Support Identify Fibres and Fabrics Press Work Embellish garment by hand or machine Perform garment repairs and alterations Determine and perform garment maintenance repair Identify fabric performance and handling requirements |
Course Duration:
Full time: 20 weeks, one day per week
Time: Thursday 9:30am – 4:30pm
Part time: 20 weeks, two nights per week
Time : Wed and Thursday night 6:30am -9:30pm
