Patternmaking 101 - Introduction
The Pattern making class allows the student to learn the techniques to create patterns from scratch.
This course is not only designed for individuals who wish to take the first steps to pursuing a career as an Assistant Patternmaker, but for those who wish to learn how to make Whole Patterns for Garments made for Home use or Home Businesses.
The 40 week, one day (6hrs wk), course gives you 220hrs of Pattern Construction Methods From Flat Patternmaking, used in Industry and Domestic Patterns, to Grading (sizing) patterns, and completing the 8 Modules with 5 weeks of Draped Patternmaking Techniques.
You will shown how to understand and use the Principles and tools for the best results when Constructing Patterns.
Ideal for those who have sewn before using Domestic purchased Paper Patterns, Simplicity, Vogue, McCalls, Burda etc, wanting to know how they were created and now wish to create their own Patterns. This can save costs on future garments to be constructed by being able to produce patterns for Garments seen in Magazines, TV etc.
We recommend the student has some Garment Construction knowledge.
